Read Information Technology Books Online

Craig Nielson, GILS Project Manager and Manager of Information Resources for the Utah State Library Division, will talk about Safari Tech Books Online at the upcoming eDG meeting. Safari is a product that makes hundreds of IT-related books from publishers like Que, Sams, O'Reilly, Peachpit, Prentice Hall, Cisco, Adobe, and Addison Wesley completely available online. State employees can access the trial site by calling Craig, (801) 715-6752, for the password. The trial is good through December 13.

Also on the agenda will be a discussion to explore ideas about establishing a governance model with leadership and representation from State agencies. This might include establishing an advisory committee and/or a voting body that would elect presiding officers.

This eDG meeting will take place Wednesday, November 19, at 2:00 p.m. in the State Office Building room B110. There will a second presenter, TBA.

The eDG meeting is held on the third Wednesday of each month at 2:00 and is usually webcasted live. The eDG meeting provides a venue where State Web Developers can learn about State development standards and new initiatives. Developers share their successes and expertise.
